These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Brixstep (the "Service"), accessible at brixstep.com. By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree to them, please don't use the Service.
1. The Service
Brixstep is a 3D viewer and building tool for LEGO-compatible MOCs ("My Own Creations") — brick-built models designed by their creators rather than sold as official sets. It lets you view step-by-step instructions, place compatible parts in a 3D builder, browse a community catalog, and request custom builds. It is a fan-built, unofficial tool.
2. Accounts
You sign in using a third-party provider (Google or GitHub). You're responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials with that provider secure. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms.
3. Subscriptions and billing
Brixstep offers a free tier and a paid subscription tier with additional features and limits, described on our pricing page. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller, Paddle.com. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all our orders, provides all customer service inquiries, and handles returns. Paddle bills you at the price and interval shown at checkout, and your subscription renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise. Refunds, where given, are at our discretion except where the law requires otherwise — see our Refund Policy for details.
4. Intellectual property
4.1 What Brixstep owns
We own the Brixstep software and platform; the Brixstep name and brand; our proprietary tools and algorithms (including part-placement and model-generation methods); any templates or starting points we provide; and any designs, models, or creations that exist independently of a specific user request (together, "Brixstep Materials"). Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Brixstep Materials to you.
4.2 Licensed part data
Our part library and 3D geometry are built using the official LDraw Parts Library and Rebrickable's catalog data (together, "Licensed Materials"). Every part in our buildable catalog is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 2.0 and/or 4.0), which explicitly permits commercial use and redistribution with attribution — we keep a per-part attribution record (original file, author, license, and source URL) rather than assuming a blanket license. Licensed Materials remain the property of their respective authors and licensors, and our use of them is limited to what those licenses permit.
4.3 No LEGO affiliation
Brixstep is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the LEGO Group. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group, which does not own, license, or endorse this site. We don't use LEGO Group branding, and our catalog excludes any part category or individual part tied to a LEGO Group product line or set-specific artwork (including minifigures) — see our part library for what that covers.
4.4 Your creations, custom requests, and the Creations gallery
Models you build using the builder are yours to keep, display, and use. Saving a model gives it an unlisted share link, visible to anyone you send it to but not otherwise published — it only appears in our public Creations gallery if you separately turn that on for that model, from your dashboard. You can turn it off again at any time. If you submit a Custom Creation Request, that request is governed by our Custom Creation Request Terms, which cover what you receive, what you don't, and your promise that your request doesn't knowingly require us to infringe anyone's intellectual property.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service to request, upload, or build anything you know infringes someone else's intellectual property;
- attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service;
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
We may remove content or restrict access where we reasonably believe this section has been violated.
6. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any part geometry, instructions, or generated model will be perfectly accurate.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Brixstep is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose.
8. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
